The Freedom Machine will be leading out the 2019 Velo-City Parade on the 26th of June in Dublin this year.

Participants will wear sashes and parade on bicycles with hand crafted banners made in work-shops before the parade. We celebrate the people that campaigned for Votes for Women and the historic connection with the invention of the Bicycle and Women’s emancipation.

The Freedom Machine is a concept developed by Artist Donna Cooney working with Artists Laragh Pitmann and Gary Brady. The Freedom Machine participation in the Velo-city parade has been commissioned by Dublin City Council and was selected through an open competition through Dublin City Council Arts Office.
